Global initiatives in the fight against terrorism, militancy and insurgency as contained in the convention charter of international peace and ways to counter attacks of terrorists groups in the World were the joint recommendations of Ufuk Dialogue foundation, the government of Nigeria, the Muslim and Christian communities at the annual conference for peace, inter-faith dialogue and conflicts resolution held at the Nile University of Nigeria Abuja.

Top government functionaries of President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration including the minister of sports Solomon Dalung, the minister of state Mines and Steel Bawa Abubakar, presidential spokesman Femi Adesina among other dignitaries argued that peace and conflicts resolutions remains the only way out of the increased wave of regional militancy in Nigeria.

Ufuk Dialogue Foundation was founded in 2011 in Abuja, to promote dialogue, culture of co-existence, mutual understanding, and to establish a common inter-faith,cultural and intellectual platform aiming information and opinion exchange among communities

The principal goal of Ufuk Dialogue Foundation is to promote peace in the World and contribute harmonious co-existence of the adherents of different faiths, cultures, ethnicity and races, and for that to be achieved, everyone must be respectful to the environment and to all creatures with right to exist, believe in the sanctity of human rights and democracy and use all means at hand to make this coexistence possible.

To this end, the foundation promote education, exchange of information, opinions and expertise, with a special focus on including as diverse a range of viewpoints as possible in our activities. Our modest contribution to this universal aim consists of conferences, seminars, panel discussions, common projects, scholarships, publications, meetings, trips and several other activities.

Ufuk Dialogue Foundation is also promoting advocacy, education and creating awareness in Nigeria which is an initiative of science and spiritual thought and   exploring life and existence from a wide scholarship of humanities, natural sciences and perspectives on faith.

The non-governmental and non-profit organisation serves societal peace, love, and friendship wisely and compassionately in support of human dignity and the common good by striving to bring forth the common values of humanity; values such as understanding, tolerance, respect, and compassion.

In a world where even the farthest point is within an arm’s reach, it is impossible to live anywhere without experiencing diversity. In order for everyone to live peacefully, it is important for individuals to rise above differences that drive us apart or against each other. Ufuk Dialogue Foundation envisions a community in which people from all walks of life interact with each other and cooperate to serve their communities, thereby strengthening civil society and promoting the development of human values.

The President of Ufuk Dialogue Mr. Kamil Kemanci took time to shed more light on the danger, devastation and destruction caused by the absence of peace around countries of the World.

He noted that the fight against terrorism can be achieved through dialogue, peace initiatives and conflicts resolutions rather than arm struggles which has caused devastation and lack of hope for the future of the young generation.

Kemanci said the individual who is conscious of divine creation is a hero of affection because he is concerned about every existence and has mutual respect and understanding for one another. With love he or she brings everyone together through empathy bridges which are major factors of tolerance in our daily interactions and engagements with others.

However, in our contemporary world we suffer and witness persecution, despotism, oppression, conspiracy, murder and pressure on the individual’s conscience and watch a section of people to associate religion with terrorism globally.

Although, there has been some recent provocation based conflicts that appear to be religion oriented, I hold the belief and hope that Nigeria is strongly proceeding towards a peaceful and happy future and thanks to the broad minded people like you and the educated generations who view the future with hope;.

Last month the United Kingdom after a long while was attacked by terrorists, series of images has revealed the aftermath of the explosion that erupted in Manchester Arena on Monday night, killing 22 and injuring dozens more.

Shocked young concert-goers can be seen being escorted away from the venue by police in the hours after the attack, while other photos show paramedics desperately trying to treat victims.

Several images also show people in the streets close to the Arena the morning after the explosion, who appear distressed and shaken by what happened the night before

Children were among those killed, including the first-named victim 16-year-old Georgina Bethany Callander, who had tweeted that she was “so excited” to see the pop star just before the event.

Some 59 people were also injured in the blast as an explosion tore through fans leaving the concert, in what is the worst terror attack in the UK since 56 people were killed in the 7 July London bombings in 2005.

The attacks were condemned by Theresa May, who said the “cowardice of the attacker met the bravery of the emergency services and the people of Manchester.”

The attacks from these unscrupulous elements have become recurring decimal on the continent of Africa and Europe, the Middle East is not left out where Syria, Turkey, Gaza among other countries of the World suffers setbacks coming from wanton destruction of properties and loss of lives.

In Nigeria we have the militants from the Niger Delta region, Boko Haram from the North East, the Indigenous People of Biafra from the South East and a few other regional terrorists groups attacking oil installations, educational and power infrastructure which continually leads to loss of revenue and retrogression in governance.

The growth and development of super power Nations are predicated on the ability and capacity to fight against terrorist attacks through enduring and sustainable peace.

Also speaking at the event, the minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung describe Ufuk foundation as the bridge between intolerance and peace since its establishment some years ago.

He said if Nigerians live in peace you don’t have to give quit notice a fellow Nigeria living in another region, believing that everyone is created by God and sent to do his will. The minister urged Nigerians and indeed the whole world to shun violence and hate speech if sustainable development and growth must be achieved.

Nigeria’s Presidential spokesman Femi Adesina declared that there is only one way to growth in governance and continuity in all forms of political scenes across Nigeria.

He said peace is a creation of man as ordained by God, especially in emerging economies like Nigeria where conflicts and crises have played a key role in its speedy retrogression in recent times, using the devastation in the North East region as a case study.

Femi used the occasion to urge all Nigerians to continue to pray for Mr. President for a quick recovery to enable the country go beyond and conquer in the fight against insurgency and insurrections.

The institute for peace and conflicts resolution in Nigeria took detail account of the importance of Ufuk and came to the conclusion that the foundation should be recommended to partner with strategic agencies of government to drive peace initiatives projects of the government.

The stand and position paper of the institute described the attacks by terrorists as devastating tools to all Nigerians; therefore this situation should stimulate everyone to embrace peace at home, in offices, on the road, farms and work places.
